Requires OS X 10.4

Tags ( )

Clockwork requires OS X 10.4, and you should see a nice warning dialgue when you try to launch it on an earlier version of OS X. Unfortunatly it appears that some versions of OS X 10.3 and 10.4 fail to show this warning and instead fail and print:

RegisterProcess failed (error = -50)

in the Console.app. I don’t have control over this, hopefully it will get fixed by Apple soon.

Make Clockwork work on 10.3

I just learned that Clockwork will run on 10.3 if you modify it’s plist. To do this:

  1. Control-Click on Clockwork and choose “Show Package Contents” from the contextual menu.
  2. Open the “Contents” folder, and then double click on the “Info.plist” file that it contains.
  3. This should open it in the “Property List Editor”. Expand the Root property and then select the LSMinimumSystemVersion property and delete it.
  4. Save everything and launch Clockwork again. It should now run on 10.3

I think some things such as AppleScript won’t work properly, but I’ve been told that in general Clockwork will work. I no longer have 10.3 to test on.

This plist edit is no longer

This plist edit is no longer required. Now Clockwork will launch on 10.3, but will display a warning that some features might not work.

Annoying warning

If it works, display the warning only on first launch. If it doesn't, loose potential buyers. Right now it's rather annoying.

One thing that worked two times but hasn't since is Alert with sound. Window comes up but remains silent.

Good point. I'll fix this in

Good point. I'll fix this in the next release. This is fixed as of v22.

Not working on 10.3

Hi. Is there perhaps an older version that is still working on 10.3? I'd hate to spend $100 on 10.4 for an app that I paid 10 bucks for. Seems kinda silly.

I tried downloading the latest version of this app and it comes up and loads, but no window for a timer appears. When I click on "new"...zip. nada. nothing.

Help?
