The next version of WriteRoom will make it much easier to get text out of one app, and into WriteRoom for editing, and then back to the original app. In many ways it will be the same as adding a WriteRoom mode for any app. So something to look forward to :) |
A great use for WriteRoom
If there ever were a bit of writing where I need to just concentrate and get the ideas out, it's blogging. This script lets me rough out my ideas in WriteRoom and then in Ecto make the links, the photo(s), the quote formatting, etc. - everything but the creative part.
Makes me wish that there was a 'WriteRoom' mode for any app, which would isolate the current text editing area and place it in a WriteRoom editing equivalent. Computers are good at a lot of things, but one thing they aren't so good at is helping us concentrate. Something like this might help us to return to the best of what the typewriter (which I barely remember) or pad of paper offered, with little distractions other than the room around you for doing the task of the writing.
