Beginner's question: How do I create a new "title" within a folder

Tags ( )

Hi,
although I use Mori Notebook now for over 2 years I still didn't grasp the hierarchy of entries/folders/titles.
Now my current problem is: within the folder "Music" I want to create a new "title" (and further-on within this new title I want to write some text).
Within the folder "Music" I already have 8 title-entries and a subfolder and an entry.
1) Under "File" I find New Notebook, Entry, and Folder. Nothing comes next to my task.
2) I could of course create a new entry (then the "Title"-pane is empty and I could write into the pane exactly under the "Title"-pane). But I think it's more appropriate when I create a nineth title (because every title-entry contains a list of musical tracks).

How do I create a a new "title" within the folder "Music"?

All you should need to to is

All you should need to to is create a new entry, either from the icon bar or by typing CMD-n.

creating a new title

Thanks, but ...
That doesn't bring the desired result. Maybe I hadn't make clear what I want.
I have a subfolder named - say "Telekom"
Now I create a new entry name - say "Zugang" (as you proposed).

What I get is this:
a) in the lefthand folder bar I get directly under the subfolder "Telekom" a new line named "Zugang". But is not within that folder.
b) my righthand pane is divided in a "Title" pane above and another pane beyond. The "Title" is empty, i.e. no title or text (except the Mori standard title: "Title"); the pane beyond has the title "Zugang" and I can write in it (which is fine).

But that is not what I want. I want a subentry or title entry within the subfolder "Telekom", because the data I will write into the entry "Zugang" belongs to Telekom. And I wanted to know how to create a title, i.e. how to get an entry in the pane above (name "Title" by Mori standards).

I see what you mean

I see what you mean. I have wondered about this too. I was able to "fix" this by dragging your new item "Zugang" onto the folder "Telekom". Then, with the cursor on either the item "Zugang" or on the folder "Telekom" I can directly add new items. Yes, it is a work-around, but it works.

New entry inside another

Notes:
The pane at the left is called 'sources view'
The pane at top-right is called 'entries view'. It shows what is contained in the entry you select in the sources view.
The pane at bottom-right is called 'note view'. It shows text contained by the entry selected in the entries view.
'Folders' & 'files' you see within Mori are all in our imagination. To Mori they are all entries.

OK, now to make a new entry inside another:
Select desired entry in sources view; you may have to click triangles to get to see it.
Click in the entries view (NOT on an entry that shows up in there).
Hit return: a new entry will be created, with its title selected for editing
(if not: there's a checkbox in prefs>general that takes care of that).

If the entry you selected in the sources view was empty, it did not have a disclosure triangle. It will have one now: click it, and you will see the entry you just created.

And check out toolbar buttons. Some will let you manipulate the entries hierarchy.

That does it

Confirmed! This does the trick. Thanks Alastor993 :)

Hi, thank you. That works

Hi,
thank you. That works excellently.
In the meantime I already had found out the work around proposed by jake4891.
Now I have saved your instructions within a new subentry of folder "Mori" with Mori.
