I am really enjoying my Mori journal. I'm an artist and writer (and teacher) and I have years of paper journals. But I got increasingly frustrated with my inability to retrieve project-related information from paper journals which are chronological--when I'm a non-linear thinker who has on-going projects which span years.
I decided to start the switch to a digital archive about six months ago, and began the process of scanning old paper journal pages and adding new content digitally. I'm not worrying about the distant past yet, just concentrating on the last two years and my active project.
I've tried several digital journal formats and had settled on MacJournal as the best of the lot for my purposes. But I found its keyword system cumbersome and its lack of Smart Folders limiting, so I decided to give Mori a try.
I found the import process to be relatively painless, aided by Tag folders for quickly assigning my old keywords as tags.
I love the Smart folder system. And just as much, I love the clean and elegant interface which doesn't get in my way.
I still use paper to "process" and dream and draw, but I do like having the digital archives accessible at any time to sort, read and make connections.
Please know that I appreciate the work that's gone into this application. I hope you'll continue to develop Mori as I think it's the most elegant solution out there.
