default note font doesn't work

I've just noticed that the default note font setting does not work. I don't know when it stopped: I decided not to use Mori for ongoing work until various bugs were fixed. So, put differently, this issue may have appeared in version 1.6.10 for all I know.

I've set my default note font to be Helvetica 18, but any new note continues to use Lucida Grande 12 pt. This persists with quite/restarting, new notebook, etc. It may be that I'm doing something wrong, but not being able to reliably set a default note font size makes things hard on my eyes!

works here

The default font setting works for me (Mori 1.6.11/MacOS X 10.4.11/Intel). Did you try to remove Mori's preference file to see if it might have become corrupted somehow?

It's located at "~/Library/Preferences/com.apokalypsesoftware.Mori.plist"

"~" is a shortcut to your home folder.

Sven: Thanks for your

Sven: Thanks for your suggestion. I'm using Mori 1.6.11 on Mac OS 10.5.4, intel.

There is no preference file! In either Library! Very strange, but clearly a plist is not being created for some reason.

Last paste or last clipping???

I'm having a similar problem.

The "default" font for a new note seems to get inherited from the last paste into a prior note or the last clipping (Service Menu). For me the "default" font and style is constantly changing!!!

Selecting all the text in a new note and then Menu > Text > Clear Formatting will set the text to the default setting in my preferences. However when I continue typing at the end of the note the "default" is not retained. To work a round this, an extra line can be added to the end of the note before clearing the format and then to position the cursor before the end of the note.

This font and style behavior was introduced several versions back.

Bob, Thanks so much. That

Bob,

Thanks so much. That does the trick. So I can work around all this, but it's pretty unintuitive. Clearly there's a bug swimming around! For the short term I have a work around and at least I can move forward.

Same here, i.e "default font" is inherited from the last paste

Just want to add fuel: I have the same behavior as described by Bb, i.e "default font" is inherited from the last paste.

Very annoying! Deleting plist-stuff does not help.

This is one of many issues that make me loose faith in the future of Mori.

That's the most annoying bug

That's the most annoying bug in the 1.6.x series for me so far, because it strikes for *every* new document. – And it is not fixed for *months* now. :/

I have to agree with you.

I have to agree with you. This bug alone keeps me from using Mori. Nor has there been any response from the developer about this issue--so it's not clear to me that he recognizes the issue (much less if he's going to try to fix it).
