Description
Double clicking on a file icon should open that file in a new window. the window should be configured such that the file title and file content are prominent. It should also be possible to "minimize" a standard window into this simple text view.

| Title: | double click on file icon to open new window | » multiple notes open..why? Because... |
The advantage of having multiple windows, apart from moving stuff around, is for writers. That of course includes many roles, not just a 'writer'.
I laugh at the thought of people just collecting notes, and not bening able at leadt to summarise them for some purpose, unless for refeerence. why because that's how my work goes when its slow.
Having one or more notes open is useful beyond beleive, and matches the real world. Therefore, to have a new window open with full explorer gui serves non-writers, and cannot serve a writer well. It's simply too cluttered, and invloved, resizing two panes and the window (are these remebered per note basis?) to view your notes in limited space, and still you may not see enough. Also, you cannot minimize the window to leave a small portion of text showing.
Forest seems snappy to me. Great. But when my poooter is working hard resizing forest winows is slow. Not so with a note I think.
So what is the most important reason for having multiple notes open? And who needs notes in large amounts to explore? Should the main reason for opening a note be to see the note, and a different fuction (not the handy double click) to access a new explorer gui. This feature exists in TBX (return to open selected note which is even nicer) and I personally use both freely, but explorer far far less. I also have a choice of outline view in TBX, which I prefer to explorer view generally, as it too is less cluttered. Explorer does not meet the need of having multiple notes open..i.e working upon notes and references at the same time. Instead I select my notes from outline views.

Also, bring back the keyboard shortcut for opening in new window, shift-cmd-O
Just use Cmd-O now. It will open the selected entry in a new viewer window.

Woohoo! Thanks Jesse.
Now... Is there any way the note can open in a window by itself, without the entire interface bulking things up? I'd really like to see a minimal window that contains just the note text and a small header to move the window around, and a small grabber to resize it. This, combined with a "stay on top of other windows" option would be perfect for making notes while researching (as mentioned in another request.)
Hey, this was my feature request! Wasn't this one listed as 'multiple windows...' or something like that? I've been requesting this feature for a while now! I am assuming you melded these two requests together since they were really the for the same thing, but there were some votes for my listing as well, so shouldn't that get added (or did it?)?

Yes I melded the two requests. When I meld request I always try to keep the one that had the most votes. That's why I kept this one, but changed the title, because I though the title of the one with fewer votes was better. Unfortunatly it's not possible (easily) to transfer votes when marking an item as a duplicate, so if you see an issue marked as duplicate make sure to visit the issue that's replacing it and make sure that you've voted on that one too.
Thanks for explaining. I thought this to be the case. I remember having about 5 votes on my listing, one of which is definitely redundant, since I voted on both. So, please add 4 votes to the count on this one. :-) (can you tell I REALLY want this one! :-) )

Mori 1.2 now will open a simple text view when you double click on a file entries icon.
