has "imminent" been radically redefined?

On August 27 it was announced in the Blog section that Mori 1.7 would be released "imminently." A little later (if memory serves me correctly) the developer asked for a vote about releasing 1.7 with or without some specific features. But I've never seen any feedback on that vote.

Okay, I'll admit I may be old-fashioned in some ways, but I don't think in terms of geological time. "Imminent" to me would be within about 2 weeks. At any rate it certainly doesn't imply 2 more months of waiting: with no updates, no information. Nothing. It seems the developer is happy to twitter on about politics, but not to keep his customers informed about something he himself claimed was imminent.

If this was a business it would be going out of . . . oh, wait it IS a business (kind of).

Please update us. You can't seriously expect customer satisfaction, or customer allegiance, with this kind of behavior.

Every few months a customer asks for better communication. And the developer, every few months, says he will get better at this. Every few months a customer asks for an update. Every few months the developer writes (at the end of a long long expository containing multiple excuses) that the new Mori is about to be released. And yet nothing changes. Keep in mind we all remember the first "announcement" for Mori 1.7 was a release date of July 2007!

People are patient. People are understanding that unforeseen problems may crop up in the development process. But the lack of communication, and the lack of follow through, are very worrisome. (And needless to say, the proposed future pricing of $99 and $199 on vaporware is just laughable.)

I agree. The incapacity of

I agree. The incapacity of the developer is boring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mori is an excellent program. But this has nothing to do with this developer.

Don't know where this is going

My guess is that Alfonso got carried away with all the other stuff he's working on. He is always full of plans and ideas. Makes it kinda hard to stick to what Mori's users expect. I'd have turned my back on Mori if it wasn't so light and easy. Every other option is either lacking or too big and clunky for the job I need it for. So I keep coming back, reminding myself not to expect too much ...

Ditto.

Would love to hear some good news about Mori's future.

I'd like to know if there is

I'd like to know if there is any kind of economical agreement between Jesse Grosjean and Alfonso Guerra for a 1.7 release. Maybe Alfonso doesn't release Mori 1.7 deliberately, to save some bucks...

By the way, now I'm considering to switch to Bento. At the moment the most important thing aren't features but preserving all my data.
