Inserting column data into tables

Tags ( )

Problem: I want to copy a single column of names and insert this column into a new table in Mori. The table I created was 41 rows x 3 columns, but I can't seem to insert the copied list into the equivalent cells (everything is copied into 1 cell). Yes, I can cut and paste into each individual cell, but this method becomes onerous when I have to do it multiple times in multiple tables. I could do everything in excel (yuck), then cut and paste the resultant table into Mori, but I would prefer to do it all within Mori itself.

My problem may have a simple solution. I've looked through the users guide and searched through the forum discussions, but have not come across a solution.

I've been using Mori since 2005 and it really works well for almost everything I work on (I also use omni outliner and devon think and voodoo pad for other projects - each has their own strengths and weaknesses, but most of my work is done using Mori)

Thanks in advance for for suggestions.

Importing Column Data

Thank you for being such a hard-core Mori user! Hopefully Mori 1.7 will lessen your need to depend on other apps for your projects.

For solving your importing problem, what program do you use to create this column of names and what kind of table are you trying to insert it into? The capabilities in the rich text tables is severely limited, which I'm looking to enhance. It lacks column smarts, as you pointed out (same goes for rows).

Right now, even Mori's ability to import/export different types of data are limited and being upgraded.

I look forward to hearing from you on what you're currently using to accomplish this, and helping to provide a way to improve your workflow.
