Webhosting recommendations

Any web hosting experts out there? Right now I'm using www.powweb.com which has been OK, but seems to be a bargain basement service. I'm looking for a host that's targeted more at developers. I want it to be fast and to have subversion support. I'm finding it very difficult to sort through all the options online. Thoughts?

I've just switched to dreamhost. They aren't perfect, but so far the speed is much better then I was getting at powweb.com for pretty much the same price.
