I second the request for inclusion of insert date and time via keystroke.
I notice that upon importing my HB 3.5 data into Mori, that each document bears its own date/time stamp. If you implement the ability to manually date and/or time stamp an entry, then the automatic date/time stamp should be (optionally) disabled.

I switched back to HB from DevonNote which kept all my data in a single database. When my Mac crashed, I lost it all. So far HB has been steady as a rock. Hats off to you Jesse.!

I'm glad you like it. And so far Mori has been even more stable then HBN.

BUT!!!!

Even with Mori you should always keep backups if you data is important.

I would also like this feature to be able to insert into documents. I have experimented with writing a journal in Mori and it would be nice to insert the current time into the document at the point where you resume writing. For example, you have one document titled "Thursday, July 20, 2006" in a "Journal" notebook and then multiple paragraphs each strating with a different time of day. Of course you can do this manually but it would be nice to just insert it from the keyboard.

This probably ought to fall under adding keyboard shortcuts for scripts, since inserting date and time, to me, seems like a nonplatform feature that should be handled by a script or plugin.

I think Jeff (BMEguy) is planning to make an example plugin that does this. At least he was thinking about it about a week ago.

Yes, it's almost done.
I figured that the most common plugin type would be one that was available from the menu or toolbar, and had prefs for customizing the action, so I mostly just wanted to give people interested in trying their own plugin one that extended from these points. Inserting the date an time was high on the list of requests and simple enough that it would make a good example/template plugin.

[on a side note, the only thing impeding my progress is a bug where Xcode's "Find in Project" dialog window comes up completely blank. No fields or buttons. Just a top and bottom section and the bottom says "no editor". Anyone had this problem before? I googled it but came up empty. ]

I've had Xcode return no results for find in project, which I was usually able to fix just by restarting Xcode (reindexing the project didn't do it). Odd as it may sound, sometimes restarting Xcode or the whole computer will fix odd bugs in Xcode (occasionally it will lose track of a framework, for example, which I've only been able to fix by restarting: the program didn't link before restart, but it does after).

Whether this feature is integrated into Mori, there is a 3d party System Preference, Textpander (used to be free) with which you can program to insert the date or time in any running application.

Hi I found this thread while looking on google, because my "find in project" window in xcode also comes up completely blank. I found a solution though.
Select some text and then use "find selected text in project" This gives some results maybe, but somehow it reinitializes the find and replace bit at the top of the window. Next time you use "find in project" it should be functioning properly.

You can also try clicking the green maximize button, that seemed to reset mine.
