If you have a question please look first in Mori’s user guide first. You can also use this website’s search form (at bottom of page) to see if the question has come up before.

If you have a bug to report or feature to request please use the requests & bugs page to submit them. That makes them easier for me to track and allows you and other users to vote on the requests that you want me to implement first.

If you’ve still got a question after that then ask away here in the Mori user forum.

importing

Using G5 Dual and system 10.4.7 --Cannot import anything over a single file -- no documents in folders or sub folders in either MS Word or plain texts. Also cannot import Hob Files 3.5. I can copy single file individually by drag and drop and can wait forever for a group of 10 to import on drag and drop. Help, I am thnking of goint to Devon if this is to continue. My machine is in good shape and all the usual starts and stops do not help.

re: importing

I would try completely removing Mori (using something like AppZapper) and reinstalling. I am using Mori on a G4/800MHz/1.12G RAM iBook and have imported several hundred files at a time with no problem, by drag and drop.

If you really want to keep everything in one application then you should try DevonThink Pro. I used DTP for a while, but I discovered that I can access all of my data easier through SpotLight (or Houdaspot) - including my Mori entries!

There are two problems with using DTP or Mori as a catchall. The first is that most apps work great with txt files, but anything else may be screwy. For example, I keep my To Do lists in *.gtd files, which are plain text files. DTP refuses to deal with them. On the Mori side, PDFs are a pain. You have to create an entry and copy the PDF into the entry. It works, but I'm happier using a search engine and opening PDFs in PDFView. The other problem that you may run into is data management. Are you going to import all of the documents into an app and then delete the originals, just copy the originals, or link to the original? I find it easier to collect snipets and write short notes in Mori and keep all of my other documents in my Documents folder.

Sorry for the long-winded reply, but hope it helps.

Mike
