Clockwork

License scheme hacked, finally!

Tags ( | | )

I just got an email (thanks for letting me know) that I've been anticipating for a long, long, time. Someone's finally posted a way to get around WriteRoom's (works for Mori and Clockwork too) license scheme. Here's the link:

But you'll need to sign up to see that, so here are the instructions:

Follow the steps below if you're wondering how to manually crack the program yourself:
- Right-click (a.k.a control-click) on WriteRoom and select "Show Package Contents"
- Navigate to "Contents/PlugIns/"
- Locate the file "BKLicense.plugin", right-click on it and select "Show Package Contents"

Bugs & Feature requests

I’m now going through the bugs & feature requests section of the website looking for requests that I can close with the release of Mori 1.2. In the process I’m also trying to clean things up, find duplicate request, and in general make the list more friendly. And that brings up some thoughts.

In general I’m very happy with the requests, but there are some problems. The big one being that the bigger the list becomes the less useful it is. The voting system helps with this, since in demand features float to the top. But that still leaves us with 10 pages of issues that didn’t make the first few pages. At some point I might start cleaning out old requests (even good ones) that don’t have many votes. So if you want it, vote on it.

Mori and Clockwork license files

When you buy Mori or Clockwork I send you an email with a license file attachment that you use to register the application. Unfortunately some of these email have been delayed or are not getting through due to some problems with my web-host mail servers. The good news is that I think this issue is now resolved, but if you still don't have your license file please email me so that I can resent you license file email.

Also I haven't done a very good job of spelling out what the difference's are between a registered and unregistered copy of an application. Currently the only functional difference is that once you've registered your application the "Thank your for trying..." nag screen that is shown when you start the application will no longer be shown. I'll likely add more differences (incentives for registering) over time, and will soon be listing these out explicitly so there is less confusion.

Clockwork and cold weather

I’ve just released a new version of Clockwork, here are the release notes.

Development is also started on Forest, the next application in the Hog Bay Notebook line. Forest will be based on our Blocks plugin framework, and will take advantage of many new Tiger technologies. I don’t have anything ready for download yet, but hope to release “something” in the next few weeks. The first releases will not be a completed application, that will still take some months, but it will be enough to try out so you can help me design it from there.

I've just released a new version of Clockwork and a new version of the Blocks plugin framework that Clockwork is built on. The Blocks framework download now comes with an SDK that contains some example plugins that you can get started with including the source for the new talking timer plugin. There is also new new documentation in both the Clockwork User Guide and the Blocks Framework Guide. Now it's time to mow the lawn. We are having
